This Forest Service-built cabin is located on the Middle Fork of Rock Creek, close to the Anaconda Pintler Wilderness. The cabin has one room. It has two bunk beds, water, a wood burning stove, a cookstove (bring your own propane canister), tables and chairs. There is a corral that can be used for no extra charge. Vault toilet. $20/night fee.
Directions:
The cabin is located about 24 miles southwest of Philipsburg, Montana. From Philipsburg, drive 6 miles south on Highway 1 to the junction with Montana Highway 38 (Skalkaho Highway). Turn right and drive west for 9 miles until it meets Forest Road #5106, the Middle Fork Road. Turn left and continue another 9 miles to the Moose Lake Station. Up to 1/4 mile of snowmobile or ski travel may be required in winter.
