Poplar Museum contains the best display of Native American culture to be found on the Fort Peck Reservation with superb beadwork and exquisite star quilts. It is housed in the 1920 jailhouse, and the Poplar Pride ferryboat straddles the yard—this boat made countless crossings on the Missouri from 1949 to 1969. There is also an emphasis is on the fur trade from the 1840s through the 1860s. Open June 15th to September 15th, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Admission is free.
