For a howling good time, no place beats Baker, especially in January when the Coyote Calling Contest is underway. If your voice just isn’t up to it, though, there are plenty of events the rest of the year in this friendly city along the shores of Baker Lake. Fish for pike, crappie, walleye and perch. Take in the Airshow, Summer Concert Series, or the Golf Scramble. Aim to attend the Black Powder Shoot each September. Plan a drive just 25 miles south to Medicine Rocks State Park.
