Colstrip Chamber of Commerce

Colstrip, as a company town for the Northern Pacific Railway in the 1920s, was a mining center that provided coal for steam engines. In 1959, the town’s rich coal reserves were tapped for four power plants, and in 1998 Colstrip became Montana’s newest incorporated city. Castle Rock Lake provides outdoor recreation and wildlife habitat opportunities. Visitors are welcome at the Bicentennial Library, Trap Club, Poker Run, and the annual Arm Wrestling tournament.
