Pine Butte Swamp Preserve

Location: Approximately 20 miles west of Choteau.
|
|
|
|
This 18,000 acre preserve offers excellent wildlife viewing including grizzly bears and golden eagles. On this site is Egg Mountain, the first location in North America to yield dinosaur nests. The site has yielded two new species of dinosaurs. There are a number of well marked short hikes. Hiking in some areas of the preserve is limited to protect the bears.
