| Today Sweetgrass is the last town on I-15 before crossing the border to Canada. In 1890 a narrow-gauge railroad called the Turkey Track ran from Great Falls to the Canadian town of Lethbridge. The dry land farmers came with the railroad and Sweetgrass became a booming trade center. The town gets its name from the “sweet” grass which grows in abundance around the town. |
