Sunrise

Location:
Rt 1, near Hall
The first patented mine in Montana was Sunrise and it was given two chances at the mining life. The first faded away with the silver panic in the early 1900s. The second came about fifty years later when it was reopened with hopes of producing silver through large-scale dredging. The hopeful miners soon discovered that the silver couldn’t be mined economically and Sunrise was once again abandoned. Only a few decaying structures remain.
