| This 5,000-acre area is a bird watcher’s paradise, as the wetland is a landing field for numerous species of migrating birds. You can expect to see osprey, American white pelicans, Caspian terns, bald eagles, sand cranes, Canada geese and double-crested cormorants, as well as large congregations of common loons in the spring and fall. Tundra swans are present for a short time during March. In the delta area there are often beavers, raccoons, deer and otters. |
