Climate
The climate in Gallatin and Park Counties varies significantly throughout the year, but generally, temperatures are comfortable for each season. Residents are well-prepared for winter conditions, and the highway department quickly and efficiently clears the roads for safe winter driving. Over the past fifty years, Gallatin County has averaged 18.63” of annual precipitation and frost-free periods from May 31 to September 15. Bozeman, however, receives a whopping 35” of precipitation each year and Big Sky averages nearly 400” of snow annually perfect for the many ski enthusiasts populating the area. Park County averages 12-14” of precipitation annually, and Livingston is the third windiest town in America with winds averaging 16 mph during spring/summer and 21 mph in the winter.
