Transportation in Gallatin and Park Counties

Gallatin and Park Counties are blessed with a variety of transportation options, both locally as well as regionally and nationally. Located on I-90, Bozeman and Livingston are not only linked to the rest of the state, but the rest of the US. Several other major highways out of Bozeman and Livingston intersect with other communities in Gallatin and Park Counties and bring tourists to town who are heading to Yellowstone National Park.

Bozeman and Livingston are both equipped with scheduled bus service through Greyhound Bus Lines. Galavan provides senior and disabled individuals with transportation around Bozeman and Belgrade. The West Yellowstone Foundation provides roundtrip transportation for seniors/disabled individuals from West Yellowstone to Bozeman and services Big Sky as well. Karst Stage in Belgrade provides scheduled bus transportation to the surrounding areas. New to Bozeman/Belgrade residents is the Bobcat Transit. Previously restricted to MSU student use only, the service is now available to all community members. The bus runs during MSU school semesters and includes 17 regularly scheduled stops for just $1 per ride.

The airport in Bozeman/Belgrade is a major transportation hub serving all of Southwest Montana. Rated the second busiest airport in Montana, Gallatin Field provides more than 20 scheduled flights per day. Northwest Airlines provides direct flights to Minneapolis/St. Paul and Detroit. Delta Air Lines and Skywest Airlines fly directly to and from Salt Lake City. United Express provides access to Denver while Horizon Air flies to Seattle. In the counties’ smaller communities, public fields are available to private pilots and charter flights. With so many options, you’re never far from easily accessing the rest of the nation.
