The hottest and most isolated geothermal resources in Montana is on private property.The owners don’t mind soakers, but the road is rough, the water has strong sulphur odors and there are horseflies in the warm months. The water comes from a well head at 185 degrees F at 1,200 gallons per minute. Just remember there is no ranger to guide you and the terraced crust created by the flowing waters may not be as solid as they look.
