Location: Like most of the small museums throughout Montana, this one has its collection of items from Montana’s past. The museum actually consists of several small buildings including the Lisk Creek School No. 92 which was used from 1914-1918; a homestead shack; and another small building displaying items from the Richey Mercantile, the area’s first store. Over 5,000 items are on display. Some of the items include a Model A mail car, pioneer kitchen, blacksmith shop, church and school memorabilia, and newspaper files from 1916 to 1948. There are also several articles of clothing on display: World War I and II uniforms, wedding dresses, and coats made of buffalo hides, raccoon, horsehide, and muskrat. The museum is open from Memorial Day through Labor Day in the afternoons. |
