Poplar

This town was no doubt named for the trees that line the banks of the Poplar and Missouri Rivers that join here. The town sprang up around Fort Peck. The fort was built to protect cattle ranchers from hostile Indians. Today it is the home of the Fort Peck Indian Reservation.
