The old post office built in 1932 and now listed on the National Register of Historic Places, is the home of The Heritage Center and the H. Earl Clack Museum. The building is a well preserved example of Neo-Classical architecture. The original architectural motif and character of the building such as marble steps and wainscot, the terrazzo floor and the beautiful wood and glass arches in the main lobby, have been maintained through the years and still exists today.

The museum has a number of featured exhibits including a bison exhibit with a fully articulated bison skeleton allowing a rare opportunity to see within the animal so vital to the Native American way of life.

The Bob Scriver diorama depicts Chief Joseph during his famous “Hear Me My Chiefs” speech. Chief Joseph led his tribe on a 1,500 mile journey trying to get to Canada.

The Dinosaur exhibit features a Lambeosaur embryo unique to the Havre area. Dinosaur eggs are also featured in this one-of-a-kind exhibit.

Fort Assiniboine, built in 1879 in response to the Indian Wars, was the last built in the U.S. and was home to the famous Buffalo Soldiers of the 10th Cavalry. Exhibits here depict life on the fort.

The Jim Pasma diorama shows the “Great Northern Rodeo” which “Long George” Francis played a major role in establishing. Every figure is based on a person who lived during this time period. The museum has seasonal hours and admission is charged.
