Homesteaders began arriving in this thriving farm and ranching area in the late 1800s. When David Hilger established the first post office in 1885, he formally changed the town’s name from Saltbrook to Christina, in honor of his wife. Soon, more settlers migrated to the area, and Christina reached its peak population in 1915 with a schoolhouse, several businesses, and a community hall in operation. |
