Coal Banks Landing

Located on the Missouri River, Coal Banks Landing served as an important freight center where supplies for the Big Sandy community were received. Coal Banks was also important in the development of Fort Assiniboine, as building materials were unloaded here before being sent to the fort. Today, Coal Banks Landing is a popular put-in point for paddlers exploring the Missouri River’s White Cliffs area.
