Hays

Hays, situated near the perimeter of the Little Rocky Mountains, was brought to life in August 1899 when George Heath opened the first post office. Once a prominent horse ranching area, Hays is also proud of its deep Native American roots. Every fall, residents gather for festivities honoring the area’s Native American history.
