At one time, Hingham was euphemistically known as “the progressive city, a city built on the square.” In 1911 Hingham’s Review reported, “This time last year there was no semblance of a town here. Now, we have a thriving town in which over twenty firms are each doing business.” Today it is a shipping and storing station for grain and stock. |
