Like many towns in this part of the state, Hinsdale began as a railroad siding, its first building, a railroad boxcar, that served as a depot. The town is nestled along the Milk River surrounded by cottonwoods, ash and willows. Ranches here stretch endlessly (from front gate to front porch can easily be 30 miles). |
