Lodgepole

Located on the Fort Belknap Indian Reservation, historians disagree as to the origination date of this small community. While records of past residents imply that the town received postal services as early as 1899, official postal records indicate that the settlement did not officially incorporate itself until 1906. No matter what date the town began, its population quickly dissipated. By 1919, the community could no longer justify regular postal services, and the post office closed.
