Loring

This once prosperous community arrived with the development of a Great Northern Railroad line.  A stopping point for the railroad’s run between neighboring towns of Saco and Hogelund, Loring grew to support a post office that was opened in 1929. While trains no longer arrive in town, Loring does provide tourists with one more US stopping point before crossing over into Canada just sixteen miles north of the small community.
