Museum of the Plains Indians


Location: Junction of U.S. Hwy 2 & U.S. Hwy. 89 in Browning
The history of the Northern Great Plain tribes is made visible in this small but outstanding museum in Browning. The exhibits document the history and migration of the Plains Indian from the Blackfeet Tribe to the Assiniboine and Sioux. Also documented are the cultures, lifestyles, clothing and history of the Plains Indian. The museum contains a wonderful collection of Indian art and beadwork along with contemporary items for sale. The multi-media show, Winds of Change, is a must see. The museum is open year round. From June through September and an admission is charged.
