| This bridge is the oldest open-span, multi-arched bridge in Montana. It is the longest bridge of its type in all the Great Plains states stretching for 1,330 feet across the Missouri River. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The bridge almost met its demise when a new modern span was constructed to replace it. A group of citizens filed suit to halt the demolition. The city of Great Falls now owns the bridge and plans to restore it are underway. |
