| Adventure Cycling is America’s mecca for bicycle touring and welcomes visitors and cyclotourists to its headquarters in Missoula. This nonprofit association has more than 41,000 members. Adventure Cycling offers a national network of bike routes and dozens of organized tours. Building on the cross-country TransAmerica Bicycle Trail, established in 1976 in celebration of the Bicentennial, their National Bicycle Route Network now totals 32,361 miles in the United States and Canada. They offer a variety of supported and self-supported tours. “Events” are week long supported tours, “Excursions” are self-supported tours up to two weeks long, and “Expeditions” are self-supported tours up to three months.
