This is arguably Montana’s most unique winery. Lolo Peak Winery makes wines exclusively from fruits of western Montana’s agricultural bounty. The wines range from rhubarb and raspberry to plum and cherry. Apples from the Bitterroot Valley make both a dry apple wine and the “Montana Warmer” a sweetened spice wine ideal for that winter evening around the fireplace (Sold November thru March). The raspberry is a sweet dessert wine that is almost a port in style. It is wonderful with chocolate, or simply sipped alone. The plum wine is an excellent addition to any oriental dinner. Visit them at their new location and sample their wines. There’s bound to be one you’ll call your favorite. They are open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
