Huson

Napolean Glaude is credited with establishing this small settlement in the late 1800s when he opened the Glaude Hotel to cater to Cedar Creek miners. Glaude was instrumental in acting as a lime kiln operator to serve the needs of lumberjacks and miners, as well as served as a community businessman offering wine cellars, general storage, a dance hall, and housing for miners. Though the town initially bore his name, residents eventually voted to change the town’s name. Instead of continuing to recognize Glaude’s community contributions, settlers opted to name the community after Northern Pacific Railroad construction engineer, H.S. Huson.
