West Glacier serves as the western rail and highway entrance to the magnificent Glacier National Park. West Glacier lies at the middle fork of the Flathead River. In a community carved into a region home to over 50 glaciers and 200 lakes, one might guess that recreation is West Glacier’s backbone. There is no limiting the possibilities for recreation; the town offers easy access to both the park and the Bob Marshall Wilderness. One activity that has gained popularity is whitewater rafting on the Flathead River. The town provides chalets, motels and mountain views for your pleasure. |
