Tobacco Valley Historical Village & Museum

Location:
Address: South edge of Eureka
Phone: (406) 882-4467
This museum chronicles the original settlement of the valley by the whites and the Kootenai Indians through present day. The valley is named for the tobacco that Indians were able to grow in the area. The museum is actually a collection of several historic buildings which were moved to the site. Among them are a museum and general store, school, library, church, Forest Service cabin, train depot, freight room, and a hand-hewn timber cabin—the first to be built in the Eureka area. A boardwalk connects the buildings. The museum is open daily Memorial Day to Labor Day from 1-5 p.m. Admission is free, but donations are appreciated.
