The Cooke City area offers full services and over 60 miles of groomed snowmobile/ski trails. Visitors will enjoy amazing cross country and backcountry skiing, along with incredible wildlife viewing. This mountain town defines winter wonderland! During the summer, the Cooke City area may also be accessed from Red Lodge, via the All American Road, U.S. 212, the Beartooth Highway, or by way of the Chief Joseph Scenic Highway, WY 296 from Cody. All roads leading to Cooke City have breathtaking views! Once you arrive, discover miles and miles of ATV and jeep trails that take you through historic mining areas. There are also endless hiking trails. Bring your fly rod for world-class fishing. Cooke City is a popular route for bikers heading to the Annual Sturgis Rally. This destination town has plenty to offer: art and gift shops, gas stations, groceries, lodging, restaurants, and recreation. Cooke City sits at 7,600 feet in elevation and is home to 100 hearty year-round residents. The town has a rustic “old west” atmosphere with lots of character, which can be traced to its early history as a mining town. Visit them on the web and learn more.
