Emigrant

Tucked away in Paradise Valley, Emigrant is located halfway between Livingston and Gardiner on the Yellowstone River. Named after Emigrant Peak, the back drop of the town, the town prospered with the discovery of gold back in 1862. The locals used to soak in the natural hot springs at the base of Emigrant Peak.

Emigrant was named for Emigrant Peak, towering nearby at 10,960 feet. Gold was discovered in Emigrant Gulch in 1862 and the area also served as a spa for early trappers and prospectors who enjoyed the natural hot springs.
