Ennis National Fish Hatchery

Location:
Address: 12 mile SW of Ennis
Phone: (406) 682-4845
This hatchery is different from most others. Most hatcheries produce fish of various sizes and then stock these fish in public lakes and streams, providing anglers with hours of fun, whereas the Ennis Hatchery is a broodstock hatchery. There are only three rainbow trout broodstock hathcheries in the Nationwide Federal Hatchery System. A broodstock hatchery raises fish to adult size, then takes eggs from those fish, incubating them and shipping them to production hatcheries. A visitor center is open seven days a week, year round.
