Nestled in the foothills of Montana’s snowpeaked Elkhorn Mountains is Peace Valley, home of Boulder Hot Springs. One of the last remaining grand hotels from the golden age of Montana’s hot springs resorts is now a bed and breakfast and incredible views of the Boulder Valley. This historic landmark once catered to presidents and wealthy ranchers. The pools, indoor and outdoor, range from 95 to 104 degrees F. Thirty two springs throughout the hillside provide water for the facility which was established with the arrival of gold prospectors in the area in the 1860s. The resort has survived a series of ups and downs through the 20th century. In 1990, it was purchased by Anne Wilson-Schaef a highly respected and well-known psychologist in the field of addiction and recovery, who grew up a few miles from Boulder. She and her business partners have restored the hotel to its former glory and continue to make improvements to this wonderful alcohol and tobacco free Montana landmark. The hotel was built in 1888 and renovated in the summer of 1991. The spa buildings, dining room, and the east wing of the hotel have been completely refurbished. Boulder Hot Springs now offers a conference or retreat facility for large and small groups, bed and breakfast rooms, a weekly Sunday Buffet, along with swimming and soaking in the healing mineral laden geo-thermal waters. They offer a healing, relaxing, and healthy non-smoking, non-alcohol environment for people seeking a place of peace, calm, and fun. The pools are open year round.
