Maudlow preserves the heritage of early Montana Railroad President, R. A. Harlow. Searching for an appropriate name for the new 1898 post office, settlers looked to Harlow’s family for inspiration and discovered Maud Harlow. The result was ingenious, and the postal service that first operated under George Dodge became known as Maudlow.
