- General info
The 16- site campground with tables and fire rings gets its name from the Nez Perce Indians that would strip back bark to extract cambium, a chewy delicacy. You can see these markings about shoulder height on the Ponderosa Pines. Open seasonal May 26 through September 4. There are 4 RV pull throughs with no hookups. Vault toilets and 2 water spigots are available. No hiking, but fishing for Cutthroat Trout can be enjoyed nearby. $10/day with a maximum stay of 14 days.
DIRECTIONS: From Sula, MT, take US Rt. 93 south 6 miles to campground sign. Turn right at sign and go 0.7 miles to "Y" intersection. Bear right at the intersection into the campground.
