This campground offers 22 campsites, 2 pull throughs without hookups, situated on a bluff overlooking the Hungry Horse Reservoir. Hungry Horse Reservoir is15 miles south of the west entrance of Glacier National Park on the South Fork of the Flathead River. It is 34 miles long and covers 23,800 acres in the Rocky Mountains. Fishing for Whitefish, Bull Trout, and Cutthroat is popular. Activities enjoyed are scenic drives, boating, camping, hiking, wildlife viewing, picnicking, and hunting. Tours of Hungry Horse dam are available. Picturesque view of the mountain ranges. There is an inlet where you can tie up a boat. Each campsite has a table and fire ring. Vaulted toilets and 2 hand pump water spigots available. Food storage recommended because this is Grizzly bear country. Open seasonal Memorial Day through September 30. $14/day with a 14-day maximum stay.
DIRECTIONS: From Hungry Horse, MT, take US Rt. 2 east 0.6 miles to East Side Hungry Horse Reservoir sign. Turn right at sign and go 0.1 miles to a "Y" intersection. Bear right and go 22.1 miles to campground sign. Turn right at sign into campground.
