At 6,700 ft elevation, this campground is located on the Hyalite Reservoir shoreline. The sites overlook the reservoir and have a picturesque panoramic view of the mountains. Hiking, fishing, picnicking, ATV, and boating are popular. Trails to the Palisade Falls and the Grotto Falls are short hikes close by and well worth it. This is bear country so safe food storage should be practiced. Vault toilets and 1 water spigot available. Open seasonal May 22 through September 30. $15/day fee. Maximum stay is 16 days.
DIRECTIONS: In Bozeman, MT, take 19th Ave. (State Rt. 345) south 7.1 miles to Hyalite Canyon (Forest Rt. 62) sign. Turn left onto Rt. 62 and go 10.6 miles to campground sign. Turn right into campground.
