General info

There are 13 primitive sites located in the uppermost northwest section of Glacier National Park near the Canadian border.  The drive from the entrance by Polebridge is a long 15.7-mile rough scenic road. You may spot a wolf or grizzly.  Polebridge is known for their popular Mercantile Bakery that has amazing huckleberry bread, rolls, and cookies along with baked sandwiches.  The Northern Lights Saloon and Cafe has a variety of delicious dinner options.  Enjoy a local beer and local music sitting outdoors at a picnic table while taking in the breathtaking mountain views.   Kintla campground is tent camping only.  This is a quiet campground situated on the picturesque Kintla Lake. Kayaking and fishing popular here.  Each site has a table and fire ring.  Vault toilets no water.  No gas available in Polebridge.  This is grizzly bear area.  Proper food storage is an order.  Open June 8 through September 9.  $15/night fee.

Directions:  Kintla Lake is located in the corner of the park, 14.3 miles north of Polebridge on North Fork Road. RVs and truck and trailer combinations are not recommended at Kintla Lake due to the nature of the long, narrow, and windy dirt road to the campground.
