Twelve Mile Dam Campground is located on the Tongue River in southeast Montana.
The Tongue River is a tributary of the Yellowstone River, approximately 265 mi long It is a large body of water in the prairie country of southeastern Montana. Beautiful scenic red shale and juniper canyons. Boating and fishing for walleye, northern pike crappie, and bass fish are popular. There are 8 campsites each with a picnic table and fire ring. Vault toilets available. No water. Handicap-accessible fishing pier and a boat ramp. Open all year round. No fee for camping. The maximum stay is 7 days.
Directions: Twelve Mile Dam is located 11 miles south of Miles City on Highway 59, then 1 mile south on the Tongue River Road, Highway 332.
