At 6,500ft elevation, this campground is located on the eastern end of Earthquake Lake. It has three loops-A, B, and C. None of the sites have a view of the lake, but it’s just a short walk. There are 63 sites with tables and a fire ring. Vault toilets and 12 water spigots are available. German Brown, Rainbow Trout, and Utah Chub fish can be caught in Earthquake Lake. Yellowstone National Park 8 miles away. Open seasonal May 21 through September 27. Propper food shorage is required because this is bear country. $15/day fee with a maximum stay of 16 days.
DIRECTIONS: From West Yellowstone, MT, take US Rt. 191/287 north for 9.2 miles to where US Rt. 287 branches off. Turn left, following the US Rt.287, and go 15.8 miles to campground sign. Turn left at sign and go 0.6 miles to campground entrance.
