Off the 68-mile Beartooth Scenic Byway, are 20 campsites tucked along Soda Butte Creek. Each has a table and fire ring. 3 are pull throughs with no hookups. The elevation is 7,700 feet. Open seasonal July 1 through September 7. Vault toilets and 6 water spigots, 1 threaded, are available. Fishing the creek for Rainbow and Brook trout is popular. The Northeast Entrance to Yellowstone National Park is 6.6 miles away. This is bear country, safe food storage should be practiced. $9/day with a maximum stay of 16 days.
DIRECTIONS: From Cooke City, MT, take US Rt. 212 east 0.4 miles to campground sign. Turn right at sign into campground.
