Located on Highway 212 (I-90 Exit 510), Crow Agency.
Located 15 miles east of Hardin, this national monument commemorates the Battle of the Little Bighorn. In the visitor center, a thorough account is presented, explaining historical aspects of the battle while displays and artifacts reinforce the realism of the scene. The battle claimed the lives of 260 soldiers and military personnel of the Seventh Cavalry under Custer’s command as well as 99 men under the command of Major Benteen. Between 60 to 100 Sioux and Cheyenne were killed out of several thousand. Guided tours of the battlefield are available.
