Surrounded by the vast sky and rolling hills of Montana, you have a front-row seat to watch galloping warriors battle charging cavalry troops to the last man! Each performance reenacts the most famous and mysterious battle in American history. See legendary leaders portrayed in the context of history—Sitting Bull, medicine man of the Hunkpapa Sioux; Crazy Horse, fearless Lakota war chief and conqueror of General Crook on the Rosebud; George Armstrong Custer, flamboyant Civil War hero and controversial Plains Indian fighter.

You are there and participate in the sweep of epic American adventure as sight, sound and smell bring the past alive. Experience history that is real. The history you can taste, more powerful and exciting than television, movies, or video games!

Custer’s Last Stand Reenactment is history alive. Crow Tribal elder and historian, Joe Medicine Crow, has crafted a script based on translations of Native American oral histories retold for generations. The narrative portrays nations on the move and cultures colliding. See firsthand the struggles of the Sioux, the Cheyenne, the Crow, and the Americans. Share the epic of the West beginning more than two hundred years ago. See the buffalo culture of the Plains Indians. See direct descendants of fighting warriors in full regalia attack and destroy the Seventh Cavalry in the Great Sioux War of 1876!

World fascination with the Battle of the Little Big Horn has never been more intense. Custer’s Last Stand Reenactment has been the focus of two A&E productions, CNN and BBC coverage, and filming for the Hollywood movie Legend of Crazy Horse. Don’t miss this performance, listed for five years as one of the “Top 100 Events in America” by Destinations Magazine. Witness, in person, the excitement which has attracted hundreds of journalists and filmmakers, enthralled Americans and brought visitors from Canada, Mexico, China, Great Britain, France, Australia, and Germany.

Meet Indian warriors, face to face. Shake hands with U.S. Cavalry troopers. Talk to General Custer.

Experience living history. Walk traders row on the reenactment grounds. Sample Native American food and shop for unique Native American and cavalry merchandise. Come and watch, or come in costume and dance at the 1876 Grand Ball. Enjoy Little Bighorn Days and the other special events that surround Custer’s Last Stand Reenactment.

As one recent Reenactment visitor exclaimed, “it’s like really being there—smack dab in the middle of history!”
