Sacrifice Cliff is unmarked but is located south of the Yellowstone River, opposite Boothill Cemetery. This legendary cliff of the Rimrocks was believed to be a place of meditation for Crow Indian boys coming of age. A story is also told of two teen Crow brothers who returned to their tribe to find that their sweethearts and much of their tribe had fallen victim to smallpox. They were so filled with anguish that they blindfolded their horses and rode over the 60-foot cliff. Another version of the story says that a Crow party found their village destroyed by deadly small pox and rode off the cliff in despair.
