- General info
Montana Grizzly Encounter is a Grizzly Bear Rescue and Educational Sanctuary founded in 2004. Four of the Grizzly Bears are rescued from inhumane captive situations in the United States. Since the bears were born in captive situations, they could never be released into the wild. Bella is the fifth bear, she was rescued after being orphaned in Dry Creek, Alaska. These bears are provided with a safe and spacious natural home. Montana Grizzly Encounter also provides a place for public education about grizzly bears as well as other types of bears and how to handle a bear encounter in the wild. Very informative and interesting. So much fun to sit and watch these majestic animals and see their different personalities. There is a goat area where you can watch many goats play and climb. This is a must see place.
Montana Grizzly Encounter receives no government funding. They run completely on donations. Donations to MGE are tax-deductible. All proceeds go to the care of the Grizzly Bears and educational mission. Open free to all school groups.
