Located on Highway 84, between Ennis & Norris.

This part of the Lee Metcalf Wilderness is popular for hiking, fishing, camping, and whitewater sports on the Madison River. The canyon is carved by the river cutting through 1,500 feet of granite rock.
Beartrap Canyon is open all year-round.  Prepare for unpredictable mountain conditions. Wildlife frequents this area.
The hiking trailhead starts at the lower side of the canyon off of Highway 84.  You need to bring plenty of water.  Mule deer, bears, and rattlesnakes are natural to this area. Be wildlife aware.
