17 miles S. of Bozeman off S. 19th St.

This is the most used recreation area in the state and for good reason. A beautiful mountain lake sits at the end of a beautiful drive up the canyon of Hyalite Creek. The dam was constructed in the late 1940s, and the reservoir provides water for the community of Bozeman. Surrounding the lake are several campsites, picnic areas, and hiking trails. Fishing is good here and there is a boat launch with parking.
