There are two loops of sites in this heavily wooded area with Willow Creek running down the middle. Located in the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest. There is an upper loop and lower loop. This is a pack in pack out campsite at 6,200ft elevation. Food storage recommended since this is bear country. There are 14 sites with vault toilets and 2 hand pump water spigots. No fishing, but hiking and mountain biking and horseback riding enjoyed on the 3.1 mile Potosi Cut-off Trail No. 303. Open all year round with services available Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. No charge for sites. 16-day maximum stay.
DIRECTIONS: In Harrison, MT, turn at the sign for Pony, MT and go 5.6 miles to the town of Pony and the Potosi Campground sign. At the sign, turn left onto a gravel road and go 3.1 miles to another campground sign (Willow Creek Rd.). Turn right onto Willow Creek Rd. and go5.5 miles to South Willow Creek Recreation Area sign. Turn left at the sign into the Lower Loop or go straight 0.25 miles to upper loop.
