Montana's first state park is the Lewis and Clark State Park. There are limestone caverns with spectacular caves lined with stalagmites, stalactites, helictites, and columns. There is a guided tour through the caverns. Plan on 2 hours to hike the 2 miles. There is a visitors center, picnic area, and an amphitheater. Many hiking trails nearby. There are cabins to rent as well as a tipi. The cabins can sleep 4 and are disabled accessible. There is a picnic site. There are 40 campground spaces. Each site has a picnic table and fire ring. Vault toilets, showers, and dump stations available. Campground and Cabins open all year round. Cave Tours available from May 1 through September 30.
Directions: Located 19 miles west of Three Forks on Montana Hwy 2 or 17 miles east of Whitehall on Montana Hwy 2
