General info

This beautiful building is located in Butte’s historic district and is a showplace for the performing arts. Its proscenium theater seats 1,230 people.

While the Mother Lode Theatre remains closed to live performances until further notice we are working with performing arts companies to schedule the fall Mother Lode Series and other stand-alone events for the 2021/2022 season. Our goal is to safely provide a wide range of entertainment for Butte and Southwest Montana.

In the meantime, we are working to complete repairs and upgrades to the theatre funded with grants and the generosity of individuals and businesses. Projects include repair and paint the proscenium arch and pillars, replace the orchestra pit cover, and stage floor rehabilitation. We are working closely with Butte-Silver Bow to identify opportunities for funding and appreciate the support from our loyal patrons.
