What do you do with an old school building in a virtual ghost town on an interstate exit? You could turn it into a cafe. That’s what Ken Berthelson did. Actually, he only wanted the bell from the school but got the whole building. The brick school building in the heart of "downtown" Dell was built in 1903 and stopped operating in 1963. Ken didn’t just stop by starting a cafe. He gathered up a lot of the scraps from the fading community and started a museum next door. Today the diner serves more than 30,000 customers a year. The guestbook logs visit from all over the world. It’s certainly worth a stop.
